Today’s Lesson:

Accepting Payment

how to accept payment in digital marketing

At last, a short section…..I hope. Now that you have set up a great internet marketing website and have regular visitors who want to buy your products, how do you accept payments?

Look for a Turn Key Online Payment System

There are several available online payment strategies to consider:

Option 1: A Turn Key System that provides:

  • A shopping cart feature
  • A payment processor that will allow you to accept credit cards
  • An autoresponder service
  • An affiliate program

The good news is that you can get a FREE shopping cart at GROOVEKART and start accepting payment right now!

Option 2: A Payment Processing Company Only

Option 3: Paypal

Ideally, you will choose more than one payment processor as when you make a lot of sales at once like during a launch, some payment processors have been known to either crash or freeze your account for 6 months!

It is a great idea to contact your payment processor and webhosting company if you plan a launch as they will be aware that you will get lots of sales and traffic and will not shut down your account or website.

When comparing payment processors, you always have to read the fine prints. Often, there are hidden fees and what seemed like a 3% charge rate sometimes turned out to be as high as 25% which makes absolutely no sense.

Many payment processors have had collective lawsuits against them for such shady practices of charging extra hidden fees. You must do your due diligence before signing up with any payment processors. It is also wise to stick with well-known companies such as Paypal, Stripe or Square and avoid the small mushrooming companies that can leave with your hard-earned money.

One of the most important features of an online payment system is trust. Your customers want to trust that their personal information is being protected when they make a purchase from your website.

Next lesson: Affiliate Marketing.
